IMPORTANT: Kun Tao Combatives™ (KTC) is looking for Martial Arts Professionals across the United States who want to be on the "ground floor" of this new approach to self-defense/survival training.

We are looking for 25-35 professional Martial Artists, spread throughout the US (click here for state list), for a one time only opportunity. We are planning a large scale campaign starting in 2012 and will be establishing a network of instructors. To be ready we will be holding certification courses late 2010 and 2011 for qualified instructors who want to be on the forefront of the Kun Tao Combatives™ movement.

So what is involved? Well first, we will not be "handing out" certifications. All instructors will be required to complete all requirements and demonstrate the qualities necessary to become a Certified Kun Tao Combatives™ Instructor. One way that this initial certification will differ is that it will take candidates through all levels in one week. To better understand the levels of certification please see KTC Certification.

Why should I get certified in Kun Tao Combatives™ now? As stated above, this initial certification is a one time opportunity. Our goal is to position instructors throughout the United States to be ready when our campaign begins. With the cost of travel we want to make KTC certification available at a reasonable cost. By positioning qualified KTC instructors throughout the US we will be able to hold certifications more cost effectively.

How do I know that the Kun Tao Combatives™ program will grow? Drew Serrano, founder of Kun Tao Combatives™, is also the founder of East Coast Training Systems™, the co-founder of the United States and World Breaking Associations™, and the Director of the IIMAA Training Conference.

East Coast Training Systems™ (ECTS) offers a number of programs in Self-Defense, Fitness and Martial Arts. Through these programs ECTS has already worked with major colleges, charter schools, child abuse investigation teams, Martial Arts' studios, real estate groups, and so on, both in the US and abroad.

The United States and World Breaking Associations™ (USBA/WBA) were established in 1999 and has since grown to be the largest Martial Arts' Breaking Association in the World. The USBA/WBA runs events at some of the most well-known open Martial Arts' venues in the World (The US Open and the Arnold Sports Festival) and has Regional Directors established throughout the US. The USBA/WBA sanctions World Records, holds breaking seminars, has members throughout the World, and has hosted events outside the US as well.

The IIMAA Training Conference held July 2010 in Kissimmee, FL was the most diverse training conference in recent history. Mr. Serrano and his wife Daniele brought together over 30 instructors, all of which were leaders, legends, or World Champions in everything from Sport Karate to JKD to MMA to Ju-Jitsu to Kali to Capoeira, and the list goes on. It was held at one of the top venues in Orlando, the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center.

Mr. Serrano's track record speaks for itself. Kun Tao Combatives™ is his next endeavor and will be aggressively marketed to a variety of demographics.

How do I qualify to be a certified Kun Tao Combatives™ instructor? For this initial certification we are looking for Black Belts or the equivalent (documentation will be required). Men or women, 25yrs. or older. A background check will be conducted and references will be required, so you must have a clean record and be of good moral and ethical character. You must be in good physical condition. You must be willing to sign a KTC Instructor Agreement which will outline usage rights for logos, training material, etc.

How long will this Kun Tao Combatives™ Instructor Certification course be? The goal of this Instructor Certification will be to certify qualified individuals in five 8-10 hour days (including breaks). The training will be intense. All prospective instructors will be run through all levels of Kun Tao Combatives™ within the 5 day period.

How much is the Kun Tao Combatives™ Instructor Certification? The cost for this one time special Instructor Certification will be $1399. The regular cost of taking all 8 certification levels separately is over $3000. This will be the total standard cost to reach the Instructor Level in Kun Tao Combatives™. This is where you, as a Kun Tao Combatives™ instructor, will benefit as you will be collecting a majority of the certification fees that you collect as a Certified Kun Tao Combatives™ instructor.

How long is Kun Tao Combatives™ certification good for? All KTC certifications are good forever, as long as the certified individual attends the refresher course required for their specific level once every 2 years. To remain a Certified Kun Tao Combatives™ Instructor you will be required to attend a 4-8 hour refresher course once every 2 years (there will be at least 2 course dates to choose from each year). The cost of the refresher course associated with this initial Instructor Certification offering will be no more than $209 for life (subsequent Instructor Certifications will be subject to possible increases).

The main purpose of the refresher course is to ensure that the Certified Instructor is still in good physical condition and can execute the techniques and concepts of Kun Tao Combatives™ in the manner necessitated. This is our quality control.

The refresher course also provides a networking and brainstorming opportunity for instructors.
